Our team had the opportunity to design this modern looking mountain house which is located at the foot of the Alps, in Austria. Our client wanted a vacation house which will be used all seasons and it should be able to accommodate the whole family.
The house has three floors as the lowest one is half dig in the slope. The entrance of the house is from a separate volume, in which the stair is located. On the ground floor are located the living room, the dining room and the kitchen area. The whole space is supplemented by a large terrace with a great view towards the mountain. On the lower floor there are a party room, small SPA area and two bedrooms with common bathroom, which also have the view towards the Alps. On this level are also the technical room and the laundry. On the top level of the house is located the master bedroom with a large bathroom and walk-in robe, together with the cabinet room.
Most of the house is with visible concrete and there are also a wooden cladding mixed with dark grey plaster. The two elements which are made of wooden beams and columns should act as shading devices and their other purpose is to complete the main volume of the house and to give more aesthetic look of the front facade.
